- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
- 1/4 cup diced onions
- 1/4 cup dill pickle slices (or chopped pickles)

For the Special Sauce:
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
- 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- pinch of paprika
Instructions
- Make the Special Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together all the ingredients for the special sauce and set aside.
- Cook the Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with salt and pepper until browned and cooked through, breaking it into small crumbles. Set aside.
- Prepare the Hot Dogs: Grill or pan-fry the hot dogs until heated through and slightly crisp on the outside. Lightly toast the hot dog buns, optionally sprinkling them with sesame seeds.
- Assemble the Hot Dogs: Spread a little special sauce inside each bun, place a hot dog in each, and top with cooked ground beef, shredded lettuce, diced onions, pickle slices, shredded cheddar cheese, and more special sauce. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra flavor, lightly brush the buns with butter before toasting.
- You can also melt the cheese on top under the broiler for a warm, melty finish.
