Description

These Breakfast Fruit Tarts are a delightful and simple treat that combines flaky puff pastry with a creamy filling and fresh fruits. Perfect for a sweet start to your day!

Ingredients

Puff Pastry:

1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)

Cream Cheese Mixture:

4 ounces cream cheese (softened), 1/4 cup Greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Egg Wash:

1 egg

Fruit Topping:

1 cup mixed fresh fruit (such as berries, kiwi, bananas, or peaches), optional powdered sugar or extra honey for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Unroll the puff pastry and cut into 4 equal rectangles. Score a border about 1/2 inch from the edge of each rectangle without cutting all the way through. Poke the centers with a fork to prevent puffing.
  2. Bake: Beat the egg and brush the borders with egg wash. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown and puffed. Let cool completely.
  3. Prepare Filling and Assemble: In a small bowl, mix cream cheese, Greek yogurt, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla extract until smooth. Once the pastry is cool, gently press down the center of each tart and spread a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the middle. Top with fresh fruit and drizzle with honey or sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Best served fresh, but you can prep the cream and cut the fruit ahead of time.
  • Swap in dairy-free yogurt and cream cheese for a vegan version.
