- 1 box chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients listed on box)
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)
Decorations:
- 1 cup crushed graham crackers
- 12 large marshmallows
- 1 cup chocolate frosting
- Red, orange, and yellow gel food coloring
- 1/2 cup pretzel sticks (for ‘logs’)
- Optional candy flames (red/yellow rock candy or fruit roll-ups)
Instructions
- Prepare Cupcake Batter: Preheat the oven and prepare the chocolate cake mix according to package instructions, stirring in mini chocolate chips if using.
- Bake Cupcakes: Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners and fill each about 2/3 full with batter. Bake as directed and let cupcakes cool completely.
- Prepare Decorations: Crush the graham crackers and set aside. Divide the chocolate frosting into three parts and tint each with red, orange, or yellow food coloring. Swirl the colors together slightly for a flame effect.
