Description

Egg Noodles:

  • 12 ounces egg noodles

For the Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small onion (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 cups cooked chicken (shredded or cubed)
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley

Optional Topping:

  • 1/2 cup crushed buttery crackers or breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook Noodles: Cook egg noodles according to package directions until al dente, then drain.
  3. Prepare Sauce: In a skillet, sauté onion in butter until soft. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute. In a bowl, combine noodles, onion mixture, chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, 1 cup of cheddar cheese, salt, pepper, and parsley. Mix well.
  4. Assemble and Bake: Pour the mixture into the baking dish. Top with remaining cheddar cheese and crushed crackers. Bake for 25–30 minutes until bubbly. Let rest before serving.

  • Use rotisserie chicken for convenience.
  • Add peas or steamed broccoli for extra vegetables.
  • You can use cream of mushroom or cream of celery soup instead of cream of chicken.
