Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare the pan: Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Make the brownie layer: In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, whisk until smooth. Stir in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until combined. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Make the cookie layer: In a separate bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla. Add flour, baking soda, and salt; mix until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips. Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough over the brownie batter and gently spread or press to cover most of the surface.
