Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream wet ingredients: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the vanilla extract, pumpkin purée, and egg until smooth.
- Prepare dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Bake: Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are set.
- Cool and serve: Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
