Instructions
- Heat the skillet: Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat until the butter is melted and combined with the oil.
- Season the chicken: Season the chicken breasts evenly with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to infuse flavor.
- Cook the chicken: Add the seasoned chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side, until golden brown and fully cooked through.
- Set chicken aside: Remove the cooked chicken from the skillet and place it on a plate to rest.
- Sauté garlic: Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Create the sauce: Pour the heavy cream and chicken broth into the skillet, stirring to combine with the garlic and pan drippings.
- Simmer the sauce: Let the sauce simmer gently for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.
- Return chicken to skillet: Place the cooked chicken breasts back into the skillet with the sauce and cook for another 3-4 minutes, spooning sauce over the chicken to coat.
- Garnish and serve: Garnish the dish with freshly chopped parsley before serving for a bright finish.
Notes
- For an extra touch, add a splash of white wine to the sauce before simmering.
- Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta to soak up the flavorful sauce.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, simmer a bit longer or add a small amount of cornstarch slurry.
- Leftovers keep well refrigerated for up to 3 days.
