Meat Sauce:

- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
- 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes, drained

- Salt and pepper to taste
Lasagna Layers:
- 9 uncooked lasagna noodles (regular or oven-ready)
- 1 1/2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 large egg
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil or parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook Meat Sauce: In a Dutch oven over medium heat, cook ground beef and onion until browned. Add garlic, then stir in marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5–10 minutes.
- Prepare Ricotta Mixture: Mix ricotta cheese with egg and a pinch of salt in a small bowl.
- Layer Lasagna: Remove half the meat sauce and layer 3 lasagna noodles, ricotta mixture, mozzarella, and Parmesan. Repeat layers twice more, ending with sauce and cheese on top.
- Bake: Cover with the Dutch oven lid and bake for 35 minutes. Uncover and bake for another 10 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Rest and Serve: Let rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with basil or parsley if desired.
