Description

Spice up your broccoli game with this easy and flavorful Gochujang Broccoli recipe. Perfectly blanched broccoli tossed in a savory and slightly spicy Korean-inspired sauce, finished off with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and green onions.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 1 pound fresh broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean red chili paste)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger

Garnish:

  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
  • Sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Blanch Broccoli: Bring a large pot of water to a boil and blanch broccoli for 1–2 minutes until bright green. Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare Sauce: Whisk together gochujang, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger until smooth.
  3. Stir-Fry: Heat olive oil in a skillet, add broccoli, stir-fry for 2 minutes. Pour in the sauce, cook for 2–3 minutes until thickened.
  4. Finish: Remove from heat, sprinkle with sesame seeds, garnish with green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add extra gochujang or red pepper flakes.
  • Pairs well with rice, noodles, or grilled meats.
  • You can opt to roast the broccoli for a deeper flavor.
