Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt Chocolate and Butter: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips and butter in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth. Let cool slightly.
  3. Mix Wet Ingredients: Whisk in the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Add Optional Chocolate Chips: Fold in mini chocolate chips if using.
  6. Bake: Pour the thick batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle additional chocolate chips on top if desired. Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Cool and Slice: Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
