Description

Delight your loved ones with these adorable Heart-Shaped Cinnamon Rolls, perfect for Valentine’s Day breakfast or any special occasion. Made with simple ingredients like crescent dough, cinnamon, and brown sugar, these sweet, buttery rolls are easy to prepare and come with a luscious glaze and optional festive sprinkles.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough and Filling

  • 1 sheet refrigerated crescent dough or puff pastry
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Glaze and Decoration

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 12 tbsp milk (for glaze)
  • Optional: pink or red sprinkles for decorating

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Dough: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out the refrigerated crescent dough into a rectangle, pressing the seams together if using crescent rolls to create a solid sheet.
  2. Make the Filling: In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until well blended and spread evenly over the dough rectangle.
  3. Form Heart Shapes: Starting from both short ends, roll each side tightly towards the center until they meet in the middle, forming a log. Using a sharp knife or dental floss, slice the log into 1-inch pieces.
  4. Shape the Rolls: Pinch the bottom of each slice into a point to form the bottom of the heart. Gently curve the top edges outward to create the rounded lobes, defining the heart shape. Place the shaped rolls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart.
  5. Bake: Bake the rolls for 10–12 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
  6. Prepare the Glaze: While the rolls bake, mix the powdered sugar with just enough milk to achieve a smooth, pourable glaze.
  7. Glaze and Decorate: Once baked, drizzle the glaze over the warm cinnamon rolls and sprinkle with pink or red sprinkles if desired. Serve warm for the best flavor and texture.
