Description

This easy Homemade Peanut Butter recipe allows you to create a natural, creamy or chunky spread using just dry roasted peanuts and a few optional ingredients. Perfect for a healthy, homemade condiment with no added preservatives or excess sugar.

Ingredients

Scale

Peanut Butter Base

  • 2 cups dry roasted unsalted peanuts
  • 12 tablespoons peanut oil (optional, for creamier texture)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
  • 12 teaspoons honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Prepare peanuts: Place the dry roasted peanuts into a food processor. Process for about 1 minute until they become crumbly, then stop to scrape down the sides to ensure even blending.
  2. Process to paste: Continue processing for another 2–3 minutes until the peanuts transform into a thick, creamy paste.
  3. Add oil: Slowly add peanut oil, a little at a time, if you want a smoother and creamier consistency. Blend thoroughly after each addition.
  4. Add salt and sweetener: If desired, add the salt and honey or maple syrup and blend again until fully incorporated and evenly distributed.
  5. Adjust texture: Continue to process until the peanut butter reaches your preferred texture, either smooth or chunky. For chunky style, you can stir in coarsely chopped peanuts at the end.
  6. Store: Transfer the finished peanut butter to an airtight container and refrigerate. Use within 4 weeks for best freshness.

Notes

  • For chunky peanut butter, reserve 1/4 cup of peanuts, coarsely chop, and stir in at the end of processing.
  • Use honey-roasted peanuts for a naturally sweeter version without needing additional sweetener.
  • Adjust the amount of peanut oil to suit your preferred consistency.
  • Store the peanut butter in the refrigerator to maintain freshness and prevent oil separation.
