			Tea Base
- 1 cup water
- 1 black tea bag (or 1 teaspoon loose-leaf black tea)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Add-ins
- 1/2 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1–2 teaspoons honey or sweetener of choice (adjust to taste)
For Iced Version
- Ice (as needed)
Instructions
- Bring water to boil: In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a rolling boil to prepare the tea base.
- Steep tea and cinnamon: Add the black tea bag and ground cinnamon to the boiling water. Reduce the heat and let it simmer gently for 3-5 minutes to infuse the flavors.
- Remove tea bag: Carefully remove the tea bag from the saucepan once the steeping is complete.
- Add milk and flavorings: Stir in the milk of your choice, vanilla extract, and honey or preferred sweetener. Heat the mixture gently until warm but avoid boiling to preserve the delicate flavors.
- Serve hot or prepare iced: For a hot drink, pour into a mug, optionally sprinkle with extra cinnamon, and enjoy immediately. For an iced version, allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then stir in the milk, vanilla, and sweetener. Pour the mixture over a glass filled with ice and stir well before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute the black tea with green tea or chai for different flavor profiles.
- Adjust the sweetness to your preference or use sugar-free sweeteners to reduce calories.
- Plant-based milks such as almond, oat, or soy milk work well as dairy alternatives.
- Adding a pinch of nutmeg or cloves can enhance the spiced flavor.
- For stronger tea flavor, steep for up to 5 minutes but be mindful not to over-brew to avoid bitterness.
