Ingredients
For the Beef:
1 pound ground beef, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1/2 small onion (finely chopped), 2 cloves garlic (minced), 1 packet taco seasoning (or 2 tablespoons homemade blend), 1/4 cup water.
For Assembly:
1 cup nacho cheese sauce (store-bought or homemade), 4 large flour tortillas, 1 cup shredded lettuce, 1/2 cup diced tomatoes, 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese, 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (optional), sour cream and salsa for serving (optional).
Instructions
- Sauté Aromatics: In a skillet over medium heat, warm the olive oil and sauté the onion until softened. Add garlic and cook briefly.
- Cook Beef: Brown ground beef in the skillet, breaking it up. Drain excess grease. Stir in taco seasoning and water; simmer until thickened.
- Assemble Wraps: Warm tortillas, layer with lettuce, beef mixture, nacho cheese, tomatoes, cheddar, and jalapeños. Roll up tightly.
- Serve: Optionally grill wrapped burritos for crispiness. Enjoy with sour cream and salsa.
Notes
- To make it crispy, grill the wrapped burritos seam-side down in a hot skillet for 2 minutes per side.
- Substitute ground turkey or plant-based crumbles for a lighter version.
- Add crushed tortilla chips inside for crunch.
