Ingredients
Scale
For the Crust:
- 1 box yellow cake mix (15.25 ounces)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
For the Filling:
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Crust: In a medium bowl, mix the cake mix, melted butter, and 1 egg until a soft dough forms. Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- Make the Filling: In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add 2 eggs, vanilla extract, salt, and powdered sugar. Mix until smooth.
- Assemble and Bake: Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust, spread evenly. Bake for 35–40 minutes until edges are golden and center is slightly jiggly.
- Cool and Serve: Cool in the pan, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour before cutting into bars. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
Notes
- Don’t overbake—center should be slightly gooey for the perfect texture.
- Try adding chocolate chips or toffee bits to the filling for extra decadence.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days.
