- 1 lb ground chicken
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon chili paste
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
Wrap
- Romaine lettuce leaves, for wrapping
Instructions
- Sauté Onions: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until softened and translucent, approximately 3-4 minutes.
- Add Aromatics: Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Cook Chicken: Add ground chicken to the skillet. Cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart continuously to ensure even cooking.
- Season Meat: Mix in soy sauce, rice vinegar, chili paste, and sesame oil. Stir and cook the mixture for another 2-3 minutes to allow flavors to meld and coat the chicken evenly.
- Finish Filling: Remove the skillet from heat and fold in the chopped green onions and cilantro for fresh herbal notes.
- Assemble Wraps: Spoon the flavorful chicken mixture into romaine lettuce leaves, wrapping them up tightly. Serve immediately to enjoy the crispness of the lettuce with the warm filling.
Notes
- For added crunch, consider topping the filling with chopped water chestnuts or diced bell peppers.
- To make it spicier, increase the amount of chili paste or add chili flakes according to taste.
- Can substitute ground chicken with ground turkey or pork as alternatives.
- Use gluten-free soy sauce to make this dish gluten-free.
- Serve with a side of steamed rice or noodles for a more filling meal.
