Description

These Pioneer Woman Jalapeño Cheese Crisps are a delightful blend of sharp cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses with a spicy kick from fresh jalapeños. Baked to crispy perfection, they make a perfect appetizer or snack for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Cheese Crisps:

  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 2 fresh jalapeños, thinly sliced into rings
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Garnish:

  • Fresh cilantro or chives for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Prepare the cheese mixture: In a medium bowl, combine cheddar, Monterey Jack, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper.
  3. Form and bake the crisps: Place tablespoon-sized mounds of the cheese mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart. Flatten slightly, then top each with a jalapeño slice. Bake for 7 to 9 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly with golden, crisp edges.
  4. Cool and garnish: Allow the crisps to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes to firm up before transferring to a wire rack. Garnish with fresh cilantro or chives if desired and serve.

Notes

  • For extra kick, use pepper jack cheese instead of Monterey Jack.
  • These crisps can be made ahead and stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • They pair perfectly with salsa, guacamole, or sour cream as a snack or appetizer.
