Description

Enjoy a delightful Mediterranean-inspired snack with these crispy Pita Fries served alongside a creamy Tzatziki dip. Perfect for a casual gathering or a flavorful appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale

Pita Fries:

  • 4 pita breads (cut into strips or wedges)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

For the Tzatziki:

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cucumber (grated and squeezed dry)
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill (or mint)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Place pita strips on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle with oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat evenly, then spread in a single layer. Bake for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crisp.

  3. Prepare the tzatziki: In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, dill, salt, and pepper. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  4. Serve the warm pita fries with the chilled tzatziki dip on the side.

Notes

  • Use whole wheat or garlic-flavored pita for variation.
  • For extra crunch, bake a few minutes longer or broil briefly at the end—just watch closely to avoid burning.
