Scale
Pita Fries:
- 4 pita breads (cut into strips or wedges)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
For the Tzatziki:
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cucumber (grated and squeezed dry)
- 1 clove garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill (or mint)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven: to 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare the tzatziki: In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, dill, salt, and pepper. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to serve.
- Serve the warm pita fries with the chilled tzatziki dip on the side.
Place pita strips on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle with oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat evenly, then spread in a single layer. Bake for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crisp.
Notes
- Use whole wheat or garlic-flavored pita for variation.
- For extra crunch, bake a few minutes longer or broil briefly at the end—just watch closely to avoid burning.
