Description

Potsticker Soup is a comforting and flavorful Asian-inspired soup that features savory potstickers in a delicious broth with vegetables. This easy recipe is perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.

For the Soup:

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 green onions, sliced (white and green parts separated)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 6 cups low-sodium chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon chili garlic sauce (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 2 cups baby spinach
  • 15–20 frozen potstickers (pork, chicken, or vegetable)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Additional green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add the white parts of the green onions, garlic, and ginger. Sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  2. Pour in broth, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and chili garlic sauce if using. Bring to a gentle boil.
  3. Add shredded carrots and frozen potstickers to the pot. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 8–10 minutes, or until potstickers are heated through and tender.
  4. Stir in baby spinach and cook for 1 more minute until wilted. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
  5. Ladle into bowls and top with green onion greens and sesame seeds for garnish. Serve hot.

Notes

  • You can use any type of frozen dumplings or gyoza for this recipe.
  • Add mushrooms, bok choy, or edamame for extra veggies.
  • For a heartier meal, serve with a side of steamed rice or noodles.
