Description

These Savor the Flavor Tacos bring you a quick, comforting meal perfect for any weeknight. Ground beef seasoned with classic taco spices, paired with fresh lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheese, all nestled in crispy taco shells. Finished with sour cream and salsa for the ultimate flavorful bite.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat and Seasoning

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning

Fresh Toppings

  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes

Dairy and Sauces

  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup salsa

Other

  • 8 taco shells

Instructions

  1. Cook the beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook 1 lb of ground beef, stirring and breaking it apart until fully browned and no longer pink inside.
  2. Season the meat: Add the packet of taco seasoning along with the amount of water specified on the seasoning package (usually about 2/3 cup). Stir to combine well.
  3. Simmer: Allow the beef mixture to simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and the flavors meld.
  4. Warm the taco shells: Preheat your oven to around 350°F (175°C) and place the 8 taco shells inside for about 5 minutes to heat and crisp them up.
  5. Assemble and serve: Fill each warm taco shell with the seasoned beef, then top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, and finish with a dollop of sour cream and a spoonful of salsa.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding chopped onions or jalapeños to the beef while cooking.
  • Use corn or flour taco shells depending on your preference or dietary needs.
  • Leftover taco meat can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheated.
  • For a milder taco, reduce or omit the taco seasoning packet.
  • Feel free to add guacamole or hot sauce as additional toppings.
