Ingredients
Scale
Dough
- 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough (8-count)
Filling
- 4 large eggs
- ¼ cup milk
- ½ cup cooked and crumbled breakfast sausage or bacon
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ¼ cup chopped green onions
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Salt and black pepper to taste
To Serve
- Optional hot sauce
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare baking sheet: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure even baking.
- Cook scrambled eggs: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Whisk together the eggs and milk until combined, then pour into the skillet. Stir gently to scramble the eggs until they are just set but still moist. Season with salt and black pepper, then remove from heat.
- Prepare dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface and separate it into the 8 pre-cut triangles.
- Assemble rolls: On each triangle, place a spoonful of scrambled eggs, a sprinkle of crumbled sausage or bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, and chopped green onions near the wide end.
- Roll up each crescent: Starting from the wide end, carefully roll each triangle toward the tip, enclosing the filling securely inside.
- Arrange on baking sheet: Place the rolled crescents on the prepared baking sheet with the point side down to help maintain the shape during baking.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes, or until the rolls are puffed and golden brown on top.
- Cool and serve: Let the breakfast rolls cool slightly before serving. Optionally, serve with hot sauce for added flavor.
Notes
- You can prepare the scrambled egg filling ahead of time and assemble the rolls just before baking to save time in the morning.
- For variety, try swapping the sausage or bacon for cooked ham, sautéed vegetables, or different types of cheese like pepper jack.
- These rolls are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container and reheated gently in the oven.
