Description

This delicious and festive spiral ham recipe is perfect for any holiday gathering or special occasion. The sweet and savory glaze caramelizes beautifully on the ham, creating a mouthwatering centerpiece for your table.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 1 (8–10 lb) spiral-cut ham, bone-in

Glaze:

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup Dijon mustard
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar or orange juice
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Whole cloves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Prepare Ham: Place the spiral ham cut side down in a large roasting pan and cover loosely with foil. Bake for 10–12 minutes per pound, or until heated through (internal temperature should reach 140°F).
  3. Make Glaze: In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, cloves, and black pepper. Simmer over medium heat for 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Glaze Ham: During the last 30 minutes of baking, remove foil and brush the ham with half of the glaze. Repeat brushing every 10 minutes with remaining glaze until the ham is glossy and caramelized.
  5. Rest and Serve: Let the ham rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a citrus twist, use orange juice and add orange zest to the glaze.
  • Leftover ham is great in sandwiches, omelets, or soups.
