Description

A flavorful and easy-to-make Sticky Beef Noodles recipe featuring tender marinated beef, crisp vegetables, and a savory sticky sauce served over tender noodles. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner packed with Asian-inspired flavors.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef Marinade

  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

Sauce

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced

Other Ingredients

  • 8 oz egg noodles or rice noodles
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Beef: In a medium bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef with 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp cornstarch, and 1 tbsp vegetable oil. Toss well to coat the meat evenly. Let it marinate for 15-30 minutes to tenderize and absorb flavors.
  2. Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together 3 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp oyster sauce, 1 tbsp hoisin sauce, 1 tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp rice vinegar, 1 tsp sesame oil, minced garlic, and minced ginger until well combined. Set aside.
  3. Cook the Noodles: Cook the egg noodles or rice noodles according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain thoroughly and toss with a little oil to prevent sticking. Set aside.
  4. Stir-Fry the Beef: Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the beef is browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  5. Stir-Fry the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the sliced bell pepper and broccoli florets. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp but still vibrant.
  6. Combine Everything: Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour in the prepared sauce and stir-fry for 2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and vegetables evenly.
  7. Add the Noodles: Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss everything together until the noodles are fully coated with the sticky sauce and all ingredients are well combined. Heat through for another minute if needed.
  8. Serve & Garnish: Serve the sticky beef noodles hot, garnished with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds for added flavor and texture.

Notes

  • You can substitute beef with chicken or tofu for a different protein option.
  • Adjust the level of sugar in the sauce based on your sweetness preference.
  • Using fresh ginger and garlic enhances the flavor significantly.
  • Ensure not to overcook the vegetables to retain their crispness and nutrients.
  • For gluten-free version, use tamari instead of soy sauce and confirm oyster sauce is gluten-free.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
