Ingredients

Scale

Puff Pastry:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

Cream Cheese Filling:

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Strawberry Filling:

  • 1/2 cup strawberry jam or preserves

Egg Wash:

  • 1 large egg, beaten

Optional:

  • powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, unfold the puff pastry and cut it into 6 equal squares. Shape each square into a heart.
  3. Make the Cream Cheese Filling: In a small bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Spread the mixture on each pastry heart.
  4. Add the Strawberry Filling: Spoon strawberry jam on top of the cream cheese layer.
  5. Assemble and Bake: Brush pastry edges with beaten egg, place hearts on the baking sheet, and bake for 14–17 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Finish and Serve: Cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

  • You can swap strawberry jam for raspberry or cherry preserves for a different flavor.
  • For an extra festive touch, drizzle with melted white chocolate once cooled.
