- 16 large white or cremini mushrooms (stems removed and reserved)
Filling:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup finely chopped mushroom stems
- 1/4 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Optional: extra Parmesan for topping
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Clean and prepare mushrooms: Clean mushrooms and remove stems, chop the stems.
- Prepare filling: Cook garlic and chopped stems, then mix with breadcrumbs, Parmesan, cream cheese, parsley, salt, and pepper.
- Stuff mushrooms: Fill each mushroom cap with the mixture.
- Bake: Arrange mushrooms on a baking sheet, sprinkle with Parmesan, and bake until golden brown.
- Serve: Let cool slightly before serving.
