- 1/2 cup heavy cream (cold)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- cocoa powder (for dusting)

- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners.
- Prepare the cupcakes: Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Cream butter and sugar, add eggs and vanilla. Mix in dry ingredients and milk. Fill cupcake liners and bake for 18-20 minutes.
- Soak the cupcakes: Poke holes in cooled cupcakes and brush with espresso mixture.
- Make the frosting: Beat mascarpone with vanilla and sugar. Whip cream separately and fold into mascarpone. Frost the cupcakes and dust with cocoa powder.
Notes

- For a non-alcoholic version, skip the coffee liqueur.
