Ingredients
Bread:
1 unsliced loaf of thick Japanese milk bread or brioche (about 6 inches square)
Honey Butter Coating:
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted, 2 tablespoons honey, 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
Additional:
2 scoops vanilla ice cream, assorted toppings like whipped cream, berries, chocolate sauce, caramel, and sliced almonds (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Bread: Preheat oven to 350°F. Hollow out bread loaf, leaving a border. Cut inside bread into cubes.
- Toast Cubes: Toss bread cubes with butter, honey, and sugar. Toast in oven until golden and crispy.
- Toast Bread Shell: Brush inside of hollowed bread with butter. Toast until slightly crisp.
- Assemble: Fill bread with toasted cubes. Drizzle with honey, add ice cream, and toppings. Serve warm.
