Description

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Decorating:

  • Pastel food coloring in multiple colors
  • Rainbow sprinkles or edible glitter for decorating

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add Wet Ingredients: Beat in egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract if using.
  4. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  5. Color and Shape Dough: Divide dough into separate bowls and tint each portion with different pastel food coloring. Roll small pieces of colored dough into balls and press them together lightly to create a tie-dye effect.
  6. Decorate and Bake: Place dough balls on baking sheets, flatten slightly, decorate with sprinkles or glitter, and bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set. Cool on baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
